Really nice change to get a weekend with the promise of some South Westerly winds at last. Got to the Town beach about 11.00 and a few windsurfers already there but nobody out to gauge what sail to rig up. After a bit of looking at the clouds and getting the kit off the roof, decided that I would go out with 6.3 and Clive with his trusted 6.0 Storm.

First time across and what a blast. Good to get that feeling of truly flying across the water instead of cruising. Not so happy about the waterery end to the run, but on reflection was the only up-haul of the session. Only just getting on with water starting. The rest of the day was spent with the next 2-3 hours just planning across, having mini races with Clive, brotherly competition and feeling for that back foot strap.

Radical Rob turned up around 12.00 but by the time he was on the water the wind had picked up and his 7.0 M was a bit too big, especially with camber inducers. The last hour was spent in the shallows practicing deep beach starts and a bit of freestyle, best day this year and would have counted as 5 star if I had made the back strap.
